Robbers Point Gun To Man's Head, Demand Wallet: Oak Park Cops

OAK PARK, IL — An Oak Park resident was robbed at gunpoint Friday by two suspects who followed him as he pulled into his garage. The incident took place in the 1000 block of S. Maple Ave. at approximately 5:15 p.m., police say.

The victim told police he had just pulled into his garage when a man with a handgun entered the garage and repeatedly shouted, "Where is it?" A second offender entered the garage and pointed a gun at the victim's head while demanding that he give them his wallet.

Police say the suspects then ransacked the victim's car and searched him before removing his wallet and fleeing. The men reportedly ran northbound down the alley at Maple Ave. and Wisconsin.

The first suspect is described as a black male between 17 and 25 years of age, standing about 5'8" tall and weighing approximately 160 pounds. he was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, black pants, and black shoes. The victim described the second offender as a black male between 20 and 30 years old, wearing dark pants and a black hooded sweatshirt.
