Roger Lapinski is La Grange Featured Artist in October

Photographer documents lost graffiti along old Bloomingdale Trail

Roger Lapinski is the Featured Artist for the month of October at the La Grange Art League. The exhibit, titled, “Eclectic Photography: Featuring the Lost Bloomingdale Trail,” focuses on photos Lapinski took of unsigned artwork that had been painted along the old Canadian-Pacific Railroad Line. When the city of Chicago converted the rail line to a linear park, known as “The 606,” all the artwork and graffiti was sandblasted away.

Come see the “Then” and “Now” photos during the month of October, as well as other great photography from the artist. Lapinski’s opening reception takes place October 9th from 7 to 9 p.m. Refreshments will be served. La Grange Art League Gallery and Studio, 122 Calendar Avenue, La Grange. The gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. For more information: 708-352-3101 or www.lagrangeartleague.org.
