RSVP and ARCC Host Flu Shots with Walgreens

River Grove, Ill. - The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) and the Active Retired Citizens Club (ARCC) join forces in providing an opportunity for community residents to receive their annual flu shots on

Triton's campus, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Friday, Oct. 6, in Room R-221.

Adam Pepek, PHARMD, pharmacy manager at Walgreens on Belmont Avenue in River Grove, will be on hand to provide the flu shot.

"It is known that seniors have a weaker response to the flu shot. To combat this a high dose flu shot is given to people 65+ years of age in order to give them better and longer protection," said Pepek. "It does take about two weeks to get immunity after the shot."

Most health insurances and Medicare cover the cost of the flu shot.
