Rush Oak Park Hospital to Build 70-Space Parking Lot

Rush Oak Park Hospital is planning to build a new parking lot on east of the main structure on hospital-owned property.

The flat lot will have 70 spaces with plantings and green space on the 513 to 529 South Wenonah Avenue property, according to a hospital news release. Part of an alley east of the property will also be used for the lot, as approved by the Oak Park Village Board.

The entrance and exit to the lot will be designed to prevent traffic on Wenonah Avenue.

“As the hospital’s services continue to grow to meet the needs of the community, more parking is necessary to accommodate our patients and the physicians and staff who serve them,” said Bruce Elegant, the hospital’s president and CEO, in a statement. “The additional parking spaces will also significantly reduce the number of staff parking on residential streets and relieve associated traffic in the neighborhood.”
