UPDATE: Suburban Man Dies in Skydiving Accident in Ottawa
The accident happened at SkyDive Chicago in Ottawa Sunday morning.
A 65-year-old Berwyn man was killed in a skydiving accident in LaSalle County Sunday morning, the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
The coroner and emergency personnel were called to the scene of the skydiving accident following reports of a “hard landing” at SkyDive Chicago in Ottawa around 9 a.m., NBC Chicago reports. Richard L. Gomez was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. Witnesses said Gomez had trouble deploying his parachute.
