Sarah’s Inn Associate Board Raises over $14,000 at Sold-out Cruise for a Cause
Young Chicago Professionals Fundraise for Local Domestic Violence Agency
and Raise Awareness about Programs and Services

Oak Park, IL (July 21, 2015) – The Sarah’s Inn Associate Board raised $14,312 to end the cycle of domestic violence at its fourth annual Cruise for a Cause event on June 25, 2015. Over 130 guests attended the sold-out event, which was organized and hosted by the Associate Board.

Despite the rainy weather forecast, guests enjoyed breathtaking views of the Chicago skyline from the Fort Dearborn vessel of Chicago Line Cruises. The evening included exclusive prizes, hors d-oeuvres, desserts, and an open bar.
The Associate Board is a diverse group of Chicagoland professionals who are committed to ending domestic violence. The group secured donations and support through a number of dedicated sponsors including Chicago Line Cruises, Chicagoland Property Group, Conway MacKenzie, Diamond Parking, DJ Duke Shin, Gifyyy, Goldberg Kohn, HummingBear Studios, Ike & Brenda Berg, Kay’s Kakes, Kupets & DeCaro, Midwest Post-Acute Care, Oak Park Area Association of Realtors, Pinnacle Furnished Suites, Prairie Title Services, Purcell & Wardrope, Brandon Schulman, Spellmire Law Firm, Vanille Patisserie, and Whole Foods Market.

The mission of the Sarah’s Inn Associate Board is to build a new generation of supporters for Sarah’s Inn and to raise awareness for the agency and its critical community services. The Associate Board utilizes their strength as a network of young professionals to create opportunities for their peers to come together, socialize, learn more about and support the work done by Sarah’s Inn to end domestic violence.

Regarding the incredible support and turn out for the event, Associate Board President, William Boomer McInerney of Forest Park stated, “The Associate Board is grateful for such enthusiastic support from our sponsors and guests.
