Sex Therapist Dr. Laura Berman Narrates Chicago a cappella's "The Birds and The Bees"
Vocal ensemble Chicago a cappella performs "The Birds and The Bees" with Sex Therapist Dr. Laura Berman this weekend in Oak Park!
This clever musical adventure celebrates birds, bees, and “the birds and the bees!” From Renaissance chansons to jazz standards and Motown, the nine singers of Chicago a cappella will present songs of nature and love. The concert is narrated by sex therapist Dr. Laura Berman, making for a fun, lighthearted romp! Songs include “Flight of the Bumblebee,” “Fever,” Clément Janequin’s “Le Chant de Oiseaux,” and “Afternoon Delight.”
“We first produced this show in 2010, and it was one of my all-time favorite programs,” says Artistic Director Jonathan Miller. “I wanted to do it again, but knew we needed something extraordinary to keep it new and exciting for our audience. Dr. Laura Berman seemed like a perfect fit! We are thrilled to have her.”
“This concert encompasses what our patrons love about Chicago a cappella. It has the beautiful qualities of great choral music, but with the wit and cheekiness that keeps the music fresh and fun,” says Executive Director Matthew Greenberg.
