Shooting Suspects Armed With Rifle Apprehended In Oak Park: Cops

OAK PARK, IL -- Two shooting suspects, one of whom was caught on video holding a rifle, were apprehended in Oak Park Wednesday after a police chase that began in Chicago. Oak Park police say the suspects were taken into custody near the intersection of Jackson Boulevard and Maple Avenue.

The suspects reportedly fled Chicago after an incident involving gunshots and were spotted driving westbound on Jackson Boulevard in Oak Park. Police say they began following the suspects at a low speed. The car the suspects were in began having mechanical trouble near Jackson and Maple, which led them to exit their car and begin fleeing on foot, police say.

They were then apprehended around 8 a.m. and taken into custody by Chicago police.
