Single Mom Dies In Fatal Head-On Crash In Berwyn
Mayra Rivera, 25, who was killed in a head-on collision early Tuesday, is survived by her 6-year-old son.

BERWYN, IL — A head-on collision in Berwyn claimed the life of a 25-year-old woman early Tuesday. Mayra Rivera, was driving west on Ogden Avenue when her car was hit head-on by another driver who was going over the speed limit, ABC 7 reports.
Rivera, who has a six-year-old son, was on her way to work when the Nissan veered left of center and hit the Pontiac she was driving. According to ABC7, Rivera had to be extricated from her vehicle and was pronounced dead.
A passenger in the Nissan was taken to a nearby hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. Police say a 29-year-old male was driving the car that hit Rivera.

A GoFundMe has been started to raise money for Rivera's funeral and to help support her son. The post read, "Today we have experienced an extreme tragedy. Our beloved sister was taken from us so soon."
