Snow Parking Restrictions In Oak Park: What You Need To Know

Be sure you're aware of the snow parking restrictions in Oak Park and when they take effect to avoid getting towed or ticketed.

OAK PARK, IL — When more than two inches of snow are on the ground, special parking restrictions go into effect in Oak Park. As winter makes its grand entrance, make sure you're aware of these rules to avoid getting a fine or having your car towed. To find out if snow removal parking restrictions are in effect, call 708-358-7669 and a recorded message will relay the status.

According to the Village of Oak Park's website, the village may announce an Emergency Snow Removal Parking Plan after two inches or more of snow accumulation. When this plan goes into effect, the following restrictions are imposed:

  • No parking on main streets that are designated snow routes ($100 fine)
  • Parking permitted on non-snow route streets between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m. on the odd address side on odd days and on the even address side on even days.
  • Commercial parking areas designated by signs will follow the odd/even rule between 12 a.m. and 8 a.m.

If the village announces a snow parking ban, the following streets are snow routes and now parking will be permitted:

  • Austin Boulevard
  • Chicago Avenue
  • Division Street
  • Garfield Street
  • Harlem Avenue
  • Harrison Street
  • Jackson Boulevard
  • Lake Street
  • Madison Street
  • North Avenue
  • Oak Park Avenue
  • Ridgeland Avenue
  • Roosevelt Road
  • Wisconsin Avenue from Madison Street to the emergency entrance of Oak Park Hospital.
