Stranger Offers Ride To Girl, 16, In Oak Park

OAK PARK, IL — Police are looking for a man who offered a ride to a 16-year-old girl in Oak Park Tuesday. The incident took place at approximately 4 p.m. in the 400 block of S. Oak Park Ave., not far from Gwendolyn Brooks Middle School and Fenwick High School.

The victim told police the man was driving a larger four-door sedan, possibly with a light bar attached, when he pulled up alongside her. The suspect offered the girl a ride, but she declined and the suspect drove off. He was last seen heading south on Oak Park Ave.

The suspect was described as a young white male with a thin build and blond, shoulder-length hair. At the time of the incident, he was wearing dark clothing, police say.
