Summer Construction Road Closures In Oak Park

OAK PARK, IL -- With summer weather in full gear, Oak Park residents will have to deal with one of the drawbacks of summer: road construction. The village has several projects that will be getting underway throughout the coming months. Here's a look at upcoming road construction on North and South Boulevards in Oak Park.

Village officials said in an update that they expect work on the sewers and water along North and South Boulevards to begin in mid-June and continue into fall. Most of this work will be concentrated between Marion St. and Oak Park Ave., according to Oak Park officials.

The construction, which includes road resurfacing, will primarily affect traffic with its closure between North Boulevard between Forest and Kenilworth. This will also temporarily close the underpass beneath the Clinton green line stop.

According to village officials, South Boulevard will have occasional parking limitations, but there are no plans for lengthy road closures. Resurfacing will take place between Home and Marion, in addition to lighting upgrades.
