Sunday: The Singing Detective at Open Door Theater in Oak Park

Vocalists Sara Stern, Dana Brown and Erich Buchholz perform Great American Songbook at The Singing Detective 1/22 at Open Door, Oak Park.

The fog did its best to hide the light of the lamppost.....she was kissing him tenderly.....was there another watching?.......Put on your trenchcoat and come to hear the soundtrack, cabaret-style, from the landmark BBC television series from 1986, "The Singing Detective".

Chicago beloved vocalists Sara Stern, Dana Brown and Erich Buchholz will perform songs from the Great American Songbook as well as classics such as "I've got you under my skin," "Blues in the night," "Accentuate the positive," "Paper doll," "Lili Marlene," "Bei mir bist du schoen" and other surprises.

The Singing Detective performance will take place at the Open Door Theater, 902 S. Ridgeland Ave. in Oak Park Sunday, Jan. 22.

"Join us for an afternoon of music that you might have heard gathered around the radio, in a simpler time," said Brown.

General admission tickets cost $20. The performance begins at 2:30 p.m.
