Swastika Found In Bathroom At Catholic School In River Forest

The incident comes in the wake of similar hate crimes at Oak Park-River Forest High School.

RIVER FOREST, IL --- Officials at Trinity High School are urging students to come forward with information after a swastika was found scratched on the door of a bathroom stall Tuesday. The incident comes after several similar instances of graffiti were discovered at Oak Park-River Forest High School.

In a letter to parents, staff, and students, Trinity High School President Dr. Corinne Lally Benedetto said the graffiti had been removed. A student assembly was held to address the incident, which is currently under investigation.

In her letter, Benedetto said, "Any expression of hate or intolerance is absolutely unacceptable to the Trinity community."

Just a week ago, a student at Oak Park-River Forest High School was charged with using an iPhone to AirDrop an image of a swastika to students during an assembly. Racists graffiti and hate was also discovered scrawled on a wall outside of OPRF in early November.
