Swastika Sent To OPRF Students' Phones, Person Of Interest IDed
The teen was being interviewed by police and the Cook County State's Attorney's Office to see if charges would be filed.

OAK PARK, IL --- Oak Park police say a teen has been named as a person of interest after someone AirDropped a hand-drawn swatstika to students at Oak Park-River Forest High School Friday morning. The incident comes after racist graffiti was found at the school on two separate occasions in under a week.
According to a press release, the Cook County State's Attorney's Office was assisting the police with interviewing the juvenile about Friday morning's hate crime to see if charges should be filed against them.
On Nov. 2, racist graffiti was found on the OPRF campus that included swastikas and hate speech directed at teacher Anthony Clark, who is African-American. More such graffiti was found on the school just days later.

The incidents prompted administration to hold a schoolwide assembly and a community discussion about racism and hate crimes.
In a statement, interim Oak Park Police Chief LaDon Reynolds said, "Students, parents and high school staff are understandably on edge given these incidents. I want to assure them and the entire community that the Oak Park Police and our network of law enforcement agencies across the region are focused on bringing such troubling incidents to an end.”
