Tango 21 Dance Theater Awarded Oak Park Area Arts Council Grant.

News about Tango 21 Dance Theater receiving a first time grant from Oak Park Area Arts Council

Tango 21 Dance Theater is delighted to announce that it has been awarded a grant by Oak Park Area Arts Council from the Council’s 2017 Arts Fund.

The award will allow the company to continue to work bringing its unique combination of Argentine tango, fusion dance styles, live music and actors to audiences across the Chicago and the Midwest. More specifically the funds will be used for the marketing and staging of ‘Feathers, A Tango Journey’, at Oak Park’s Madison Street Theater this summer.

The award was announced during OPAAC’s Annual Meeting, held on Tuesday March 21, 2017. Tango 21 Dance Theater founder, Jorge Niedas, commented:

“As first time applicants for the Arts Fund Award from the Oak Park Area Arts Council, we are naturally thrilled to have been awarded a grant this year. Tango 21 Dance Theater has strong links with Oak Park through several company members, and we are looking forwarded to building further relationships in the area when we bring ‘Feathers’ to Oak Park this summer.”

“The Oak Park Area Arts Council is pleased to award a grant to Tango 21 Dance Theatre. The diversity of thought and art form through theatre, dance and avant-garde work were compelling reasons to fund this worthy organization.”

Full tour dates, including details of performances in Oak Park, for ‘Feathers, A Tango Journey’ will be announced shortly.
