Heather Mack, the 19-year-old Oak Park teen accused of murder in the beating death of her mother in Bali, is two months pregnant, authorities confirmed.
Her Chicago lawyer, Michael Elkin, says the teen is “dazed and confounded” and says she’s being sexually and physically assaulted while in jail. Elkin said Mack told him her jailers are feeding her vitamin pills and depriving her of food and water. He also said there were strange needle marks on her arms.

“I said, ‘Were you touched?’ And she said ‘Yes,’” Elkin told NBC Chicago. “I said, ‘Were you touched inappropriately?’ And she said, ‘Yes.’”

Indonesian authorities said Mack and her boyfriend, Tommy Schaefer, 21, are not being mistreated. They said the two are receiving better treatment than Indonesian prisoners.
“We have already given treatment that is more than normal,” said Denpasar Police Chief Djoko Hari Utomo, reports News.com.au, in response to Elkin’s claims. “We give the same food for all suspects. We also give special attention to her as she is still young. This is a transition period for her.”
As proof, the jailers noted they’d fed Mack and Schaefer KFC, reports the Washington Post.
Schaefer objected to the fried chicken, saying the Indonesians were mocking him because he’s black. According to News.com.au, the jailers were surprised because KFC is expensive in Indonesia and not for the “lower echelons” of society.
Meanwhile, Sheila von Wiese-Mack’s body will be flown to the United States on Wednesday. An autopsy showed the 62-year-old suffered a broken nose that led to asphyxiation, and also sustained a broken neck. She was stuffed into a suitcase and left in a taxi.
