Change begins with you. Green Community Connections will get you started Sept. 29 with a tour of the area's grassroots environmental efforts.

Get involved with the community, meet some new friends and make the world a better place. It's easy.
Just check out the Green Learning and Living Tour, hosted by Green Community Connections. The tour, scheduled for Sept. 29, will bring participants to environmental efforts taking place across the area, focusing on four categories: energy, waste, water and food.
Together, volunteers and homeowners in Oak Park and River Forest will host more than 20 demonstrations and workshops, from urban beekeeping and home brewing to conserving water and canning jams. Here's the complete schedule of available tours.

When it all wraps up around 5 p.m., everyone's invited to a family friendly community gathering with music, games and more opportunities for learning.
Tickets are $10 per person. Kids 12 and under are free.
