There's Still Time to Register to Vote

Deadline for signing up is Oct. 9. Find out where to register

Residents who are new to the area or have moved within their towns have just a few days left to register to vote for the November election.

People wanting to sign up must show two pieces of identification. Neither needs to be a photo ID, but one must have a current address. Acceptable forms of ID include: Illinois Driver's license, employee or student ID, Illinois State ID, credit card, social security card, birth certificate, utility bill in applicant's name, mail postmarked to the applicant, a valid U.S. passport, or Public Aid ID card.

Students at Oak Park and River Forest High School can register on campus during their lunch hours on Oct. 5. Students must be 18 years of age by Election Day, Nov. 6.

Early voting will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday from Oct. 22 to Nov. 3 at Oak Park Village Hall. State law requires early voters to display a valid photo identification to an election official before receiving a ballot. Valid forms of ID include: a current driver's license, state-issued ID card, university/college ID or another governmental issued ID with a photograph.
