Thief Burglarizes Office In Oak Park By 'Brute Force': Cops

The burglary caused thousands of dollars in damage.

OAK PARK, IL --- Police in Oak Park are investigating an incident in which an office was burglarized by "brute force." The burglary took place Thursday around 4:40 a.m., according to a police report.

The burglar targeted an office building in the 7000 block of North Avenue. Police say they broke the glass on an outside door and then used "brute force" to push through the interior double doors.

Once inside the building, the suspect reportedly went through several drawers but did not steal anything. The total amount of damages was estimated at $3,000.
