Triple Shooting Under Investigation In Melrose Park: Police

The shooting left two teens in critical condition and injured a third.

MELROSE PARK, IL — Police in Melrose Park are reaching out to the public for information after a triple shooting injured three teens as they were driving along North Avenue Sunday afternoon. The shooting left two of the teens in critical condition and injured a third, Chicago Tribune reports.

A post on the Melrose Park Police Department Facebook page said the teens were near the intersection of North and First Avenues just after 3:30 p.m. when shots were fired at their vehicle. According to Chicago Tribune, police say the teens may have been involved in an altercation before the shooting.

Police have not released the identities or ages of the teens who were shot. Anyone who has information on this shooting is urged to contact the Melrose Park Police Department at 708-344-8409.
