Triton College celebrates Black History Month

Triton College's Black Academic Student Association (BASA) has organized a pair of events in February to celebrate Black History Month.

River Grove, Ill. – Triton College’s Black Academic Student Association (BASA) has organized a pair of events in February to celebrate Black History Month, highlighting the culture of African Americans while also examining many of the issues they face in society.

The following events are FREE to attend and open to the public.

Friday, Feb. 8
T.H.U.G Movie & Discussion, 1-4 p.m., Room B-204/210
Attend a screening of the movie The Hate U Give, which will be followed by a discussion. Snacks and drinks will be provided.

Thursday, Feb. 28
Black History Celebration, noon- 2 p.m., Student Center Cafeteria
Black History Month concludes with a celebration including games and educational activities. The event will feature an Ayodele drum & dance performance.
