Uptick In Car, Home Burglaries In Oak Park As Weather Warms
Police in Oak Park responded to four burglary reports over the weekend.

OAK PARK, IL — Oak Park Police have recently reported in increase in car and home burglaries as the weather has started to improve and spring approaches. Between Thursday and Sunday alone, police responded to four car burglary reports.
March 8
Police responded to a delayed burglary report in the 1000 block of S. Grove. The victim told police the incident took place sometime between March 1 and March 8. According to police, a suspect or suspects got into the car through an unlocked door and went through the interior, but nothing was taken.

March 9
A resident reported that their car had been broken into in the 500 block of N. Ridgeland sometime between 12:15 p.m. and 5 p.m. Police say the suspect(s) got into a garage via an unlocked door and then gained access to the car via an unlocked door. Once inside, they removed several children's book and a Canon Macro 100 F28D, police say. The total loss was estimated at $1053.

March 10-11
Police say a suspect got into the victim's parking garage in the 100 block of N. Ridgeland and stole various bike accessories and two Bontrager tires. The burglary took place between 2 p.m. on March 10 and 2 p.m. on March 11, according to police summary.
March 11
A resident in the 1000 block of N. Ridgeland told police their garage had been burglarized sometime between 1:40 a.m. and 2:05 a.m. Sunday. According to police, two suspects cut a "cable-style bike lock" and stole a black and white Raleigh Revenio 8-speed racing bike valued at $800.
