Vegan Café Open In Oak Park's Nature Yoga Sanctuary
The menu at Nature Yoga Sanctuary's Café is entirely vegan and nut-free.

OAK PARK, IL — There won't be a single latte made with skim milk —or almond milk, for that matter— at Nature Yoga Sanctuary's new café. That's because the yoga studio's new dining space is 100% vegan and nut-free. The café opened at 146 N. Harrison in Oak Park Saturday and its menu features everything from chickpea salad sandwiches to belgian waffles and root beer floats —all made sans animal products.
The intimate Nature Yoga Sanctuary Café seats about 20 people and is located in the heart of the Oak Park Arts District. Its menu draws inspiration from natural and ayurvedic philosophies. In addition to being entirely vegan and nut-free, many of the menu items are gluten free and made without onions or garlic.
The gluten free sweet chili bowl blends brown rice and fried tofu with cucumber and carrot ribbons and a delectable topping of mint leaves and sweet chili sesame sauce. The menu also features a vegan BLT made with Upton's Naturals bacon seitan. For dessert, kids can sip on a tall root beer float or slurp on a milkshake topped with coconut whipped cream.
