Village to Back Oak Park Township Youth Intervention Program
Trustees commit up $60K for drug, violence and gang counseling.

Oak Park will provide another year of financial support to help work with at-risk youth.
Trustees authorized spending of up to $60,922 to help pay for the Interventionist/Coordinator program, an effort which over the past 15 years has worked on critical issues such as drugs, violence and gang encroachment. Three interventionists provide the services.
Units of government throughout Oak Park and River Forest help fund the program including villages, park districts, school districts and the libraries. Both townships also help pay for the effort, which this year will cost $253,841 to operate, according to Oak Park Township officials.
