Vote for Which Chicagoland Nonprofit Should Win $350,000 Grant

Residents can vote for Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance, PCC Community Wellness Center or Family Alliance Inc.

Chicagoland residents can vote to help decide the winner of a $350,000 grant from health and well-being company Humana among three nonprofit finalists: the Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance in Chicago, PCC Community Wellness Center in Oak Park and Family Alliance Inc. in Woodstock.

The online community vote is the newest facet of the Humana Communities Benefit charitable giving program, sponsored by the Humana Foundation, which is being awarded in Chicago for a 12th consecutive year. For the first time, the public has the opportunity to weigh in on which finalist it feels is most deserving of the $350,000 grant. The results of the online vote will account for 20 percent of the organization’s total score during the final round of judging, which will occur in late August.

The public voting is currently underway and will close on Aug. 22. To vote, the public can go to www.HumanaHCBVote.com, which also includes the three organizations’ proposed project plans.
