Walther Christian Academy receives $28,000 grant
Thrivent Financial Foundation grant to assist school in engaging donors
Walther Christian Academy, Melrose Park, IL recently received a $28,000 grant from the Thrivent Financial Foundation. The grant includes both an $18,000 immediate grant and a $10,000 challenge grant contingent on Walther Christian Academy raising $20,000 from donors. The grant supports an initiative designed to help the school encourage more people to financially stand with the school and its ministries.
“We are so thankful for this grant from the Thrivent Financial Foundation which will help build our scholarship and financial aid funds” said Catherine Hegarty, Director of Development of Walther Christian Academy. “At Walther, we spend $11,000 per student each year while our families pay $9,000 or less, depending on their financial situation. Our Where Blessing Abound Capital Campaign, along with grants such as this one, will help raise the funds necessary to bridge this gap and to enable more students to reap the benefits of a Walther education.”
“We are delighted to assist Walther Christian Academy through this grant, said Karen Himle, vice president of the Thrivent Financial Foundation. “We trust that this funding will allow more people to become aware of the exciting ministry that takes place at Walther Christian Academy.”
