Woman Flees Would-Be Robbers Who Searched Her Pockets: Cops

Police say the woman felt threatened after three men approached her on the street and one asked to see her phone.

OAK PARK, IL — A Schiller Park woman told police she feared she was about to be robbed when three men approached her in Oak Park and one asked to see her phone Thursday. Police say the woman threw down her phone and one of the men picked it up before they all fled.

According to police, the incident took place around 8:15 p.m. in the 1000 block of Randolph St.

The woman said she was on the sidewalk talking on her cellphone when the men approached her. She said she tossed her cellphone and one man tried to go through the pockets of her coat.

Police say she was able to get free and ran west on Randolph. According to police, she was not injured.
