OAK PARK, IL --- A pedestrian was punched in the face after two men attacked and tried to rob him in Oak Park Saturday. Police say the attack took place in the 100 block of Augusta and that one of the suspects claimed he was armed with a gun.

The victim told police that just before 6 p.m., someone hit them in the jaw with a closed fist. The suspect reportedly demanded the victim's money and said he had a gun.

A second suspect then allegedly came from behind and joined in the attack on the victim. Police say the two suspects then fled east on Augusta and darted between the homes just east of Austin.
