Maria O. of Berwyn says, “Pretty cool pub. I wanted to familiarize myself with it a little more before I wrote a review. I’ve been here before but the clientele seemed older and I wasn’t sure what kind of vibe I was getting from it yet. After a handful of visits I noticed that there is a mix of young and old, and they party together! That’s awesome. The music was drink worthy and it’s definitely a fun spot. Looking forward to my next visit.”

Meg X. of Oak Park says, “Nice enough to take your mom for dinner, cheap enough to get trashed when she leaves. The acoustics are absolutely bizarre but the cheese balls are delicious. Staff are hit and miss on attentiveness but are generally friendly and will put up with your friends. The bar looks inviting but once you sit down you realize how awkward it is to talk to the people around you. Sit at a table for groups of 3 or more; sit by the windows for excellent people watching. Mostly OK food. Don’t order the chicken Caesar wrap if you’re a fan of chicken Caesar wraps; you will experience level 2 chicken Caesar letdown. Since Horan’s closed down it’s usually easier to park a block or two east of the place.”

O’Sullivan’s Public House, 7244 Madison St., Forest Park | 3.5
Thomas C. of Oak Park says, “One of my favorite places on Madison. Feels like a real neighborhood bar - tin ceiling, great wood bar, nice outside seating. Excellent beer choices on tap and in bottles/cans and good (bar) food. And, they are always happy to put the Packers game on a screen, even in Bear country. The service is sometimes a bit slow, but my experience is that wait staff are friendly and talking to people, so I am happy to wait.”
Brian Boru Irish Pub, 7652 Madison, Forest Park | 3 stars
Karen F. of Oak Park says, “Great food in a warm, casual setting. The staff is friendly and attentive. The place has a nice neighborhood feel to it, equally welcoming to couples, families and mixed groups of friends. The Fish & Chips are fabulous- a huge piece of battered cod done just right, great home-made fries, and a wonderfully different coleslaw designed to please even those who don’t like coleslaw, like me. Shepherd’s Pie is also excellent, topped by buttery mashed potatoes with scallions mixed in. My less adventurous son had a big, hearty Boru Burger on a brioche bun that he pronounced excellent. For dessert we had a Sticky Toffee “pudding” that was to die for. More like a cake than a pudding, it was topped with whipped cream and a scrumptious butterscotch sauce. Definitely give it a try.”

Mollie’s Public House, 31 Forest Ave., Riverside | 4.5 stars
Molly O. of Oak Park says, “Such friendly and attentive service staff! The food was so very tasty. Fish and chips, roast beef and cheddar were awesome. The pretzels were fantastic as well. Can’t wait to come back and try some more things.”
