Why Train at For Your K9?

We believe that dog training is a journey that is meant to be enjoyed and cherished. We emerge out of relationships with not only people but every species and are deeply intertwined with one another. The For Your K9 training philosophy is based on the unique Relationship Centered Training (RCT) developed by Suzanne Clothier. The RCT philosophy is to promote a relationship of harmony and mutual respect between humans and dogs.

Housebreaking from A to Z Workshops

House-training is an important part of caring for a puppy. With some basic knowledge of how to train your puppy, he’ll master it in no time.

ATTENTION: Girl Scout Troop leaders in Greater Chicago and Surrounding Areas

For Your K9 of Melrose Park, will be hosting a seminar for troops on July 12th, Sunday, 9am-4pm. The Jr. Seminar: Caring for & Understanding Your K9 will be $20 per participant, lunch, T-shirt & certificate of completion included.

• Introductions and review of the day’s schedule.
• For Your K9 facility tour Caring for your dog: grooming, first aid, veterinarian check up and vaccines, healthy food & treats
• Training for your dog: basic training for puppy’s, adolescents, and dog sports. Lunch Break Wrap up, (questions & answers), discuss ways to help shelters/rescues and presentation of certificates & T-shirts
• Professional instructors in canine training and behavior will lead the seminar with hands on participation by the attendees. For Your K9 uses therapy trained K9’s who specialize in interacting with children.

The facility is separated into two buildings, including training rings and rooms, a Day Care and Dog Academy training room, swimming pool, and in-house shops. For Your K9’s training philosophy is based on Suzanne Clothier’s: Relationship Centered Training.
