Annual mammograms help detect breast cancer early and improve the chances that it can be treated successfully. The American Cancer Society recommends women age 40 and older should have a mammography screening every year and should continue to do so for as long as they are in good health. Both screening and diagnostic mammograms are offered at the Silver Cross Center for Women’s Health located in Pavilion B, 1870 Silver Cross Blvd., New Lenox. Patients who sign-up for the free I Matter program at http://imatter.silvercross.org/or by calling 1-888-660-HEAL (4325) will receive discounts at over 100 local businesses at the time of their mammography appointment.
