The Consolidated High School District 230 Board of Education appointed Moe Hammad to serve the remainder of Mohammed Jaber’s term, which runs through April 2027. Jaber announced his resignation March 26.
A member of the District 230 Building and Finance Advisory Committee and longtime Orland Park resident, Hammad brings a combination of educational focus and business leadership to the board with a graduate degree in Education and a decade of entrepreneurial experience as owner of one dozen companies.
“I love serving my community and can think of no greater honor than to serve on our local high school School Board,” Hammad said.
Hammad knows District 230 well, as a parent of a graduate and another set to attend soon. Having attended many functions and events, education has always been a focal point for his family.
He emphasized his approach to governance, adding, “I pride myself on the ability to listen far more than I speak, and try to tackle any challenges objectively. I would serve the Board in whichever manner the Board deems necessary, collectively.”
“Moe Hammad is an exceptional addition to our Board,” said School Board President Dr. Lynn Zeder. “As a dedicated parent and proven business leader, he brings a uniquely valuable perspective—combining educational insight with entrepreneurial experience. We are confident he will be a tremendous asset to our students, staff, and entire community.”
Hammad earned a bachelor’s degree in Accountancy from Northern Illinois University and a master’s degree in Education from National Louis University.
