Orland Park Nonprofit To Celebrate 'First Responder Day': Swag Bag Donations And Participants Sought

On May 29, the org will welcome area firefighters, police, EMS, dispatchers, and others for a day of gratitude and connection.

ORLAND PARK, IL — An Orland Park nonprofit that provides support to individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities will honor first responders later this month.

CTF Illinois this week announced its upcoming First Responder Day on Friday, May 29, an event dedicated to recognizing and celebrating the dedication, courage, and service of first responders throughout the community.

CTF Illinois is a statewide, community non-profit organization that empowers adults with disabilities to live the lives they want to lead, the organization said. Programs include residential services, community day services, employment services, and caregiver support services. To learn more about CTF Illinois, visit ctfillinois.org.

First Responder Day will welcome area firefighters, police officers, EMS personnel, dispatchers, and other emergency response professionals for a day of gratitude and connection. Attendees will enjoy refreshments and giveaways designed to honor the important work they do every day. The event will also welcome local organizations that serve individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Attendance is RSVP only, and space is very limited.

As a way to say thank you, CTF Illinois will also provide complimentary swag bags to attending first responders. Local businesses and organizations are invited to participate by donating promotional items, gift cards, coupons, individually packaged snacks, branded merchandise, wellness products, or other small giveaway items to be included in the bags.

“First responders are the backbone of our communities,” said Elise Zenner, Senior Director of Development. “This event is our way of saying thank you for their continued sacrifice and commitment. We also encourage local businesses to join us in showing appreciation through contributions to our swag bags.”

Swag Bag Donation Opportunities

Businesses and organizations that are interested in contributing items are encouraged to submit donations by Friday, May 22.
