Orland Park Police Department Welcomes New Therapy Dog (patch.com) — Orland Park residents now have a new four-legged helper as Petals, a rescued schnauzer-terrier mix, joins the village’s police therapy dog program. Working alongside Officer Dan Minx and K-9 Holly, Petals will support crime victims, assist during critical incidents, and engage with community members while pursuing state therapy dog certification this summer.    

2. Orland Park pool to reopen after staff member reports being treated for E. coli (abc7chicago.com) — The Centennial Park Aquatic Center in Orland Park is set to reopen Tuesday after closing when a staff member reported being treated for E. coli, with a second possible case still unconfirmed. Officials say the pool will resume operations following a thorough facility review and updated health and safety procedures, while residents are reminded of common E. coli symptoms and when to seek care.    

3. Man arrested after making bomb threat at Orland Park dental office (southwestregionalpublishing.com) — Police say a 30-year-old Orland Park resident was arrested after allegedly threatening to blow up Orland Advanced Dentistry on West 143rd Street when he wasn’t given an immediate appointment. Officers later searched his briefcase and found no bomb, and the man, who disputes making a bomb threat, was charged with disorderly conduct and permanently banned from the office.    

4. Townhouse in Orland Park goes for $471,000 (shawlocal.com) — A Marley Creek townhouse in Orland Park just sold for $471,000, giving neighbors a fresh benchmark on local home values. The three-bedroom, single-story unit on Marley Creek Boulevard closed May 22, and the article also compares several recent Cameron Parkway townhouse sales nearby.    

5. Justin Hartley to Address Knox College Class of 2026 (977wmoi.com) — An Illinois-born actor who grew up in Orland Park will deliver Knox College’s 2026 commencement address and receive an honorary degree this Sunday in Galesburg. Justin Hartley, now a TV star and producer, will be honored alongside arts leader Deborah Rutter and investigative journalist Dorothy Tucker, offering local students and families a notable Orland Park success story to follow.
