The Orland Park Public Library is inviting the community to celebrate the connection between food, family, and tradition by contributing favorite recipes to its Community Cookbook. Recipe submissions will be accepted Saturday, Aug. 1 through Thursday, Oct. 1, and the completed cookbook will be available for purchase after it is published. Whether it's a treasured holiday meal, a comforting weeknight favorite, or a dessert that's been passed down through generations, every recipe has a story to tell. The library hopes the cookbook will capture the diverse flavors, cultures, and traditions that make the Orland Park community unique.

"In honor of America's 250th anniversary, we wanted to create something that highlights our diverse community," said Adult & Teen Services Librarian Rachel Hedderman. "Food has a unique way of bringing people together, and through this cookbook, we hope to celebrate and learn more about the people and cultures that make our community so special."
