ORLAND PARK, IL — More than $20,000 in stolen Dyson hair styling tools was discovered at an Orland Park warehouse, the Cook County Sheriff's Office said.
On Sept. 10, Sheriff's Police Organized Retail Crime Investigators found a Facebook Marketplace page selling Dyson hair styling tools.
Working with the manufacturer, investigators learned the products for sale had been stolen and the last known location of the items was at a warehouse in the 13200 block of Southwest Highway in Orland Park, the sheriff's office said.
The Facebook Marketplace page in question "suspiciously disappeared" after the manufacturer contacted the warehouse about the items, the sheriff's office said.
Following an additional investigation, Organized Retail Crime investigators executed a search warrant at the warehouse later that day and recovered 46 Dyson hair straighteners with a total retail value of nearly $23,000.
Investigation into the Facebook Marketplace account and the cargo theft is ongoing.
