Orland Hills student earns Lasallian Scholarship from Lewis University

Lewis University announced Nick Mercer of Orland Hills, Ill. is a recipient of the St. John Baptist de La Salle Scholarship.


This year, Lewis University awarded three St. John Baptist de La Salle scholarships – full-tuition awards – to incoming freshmen that demonstrated excellence in the areas of academics, leadership, and community involvement. Nick Mercer was one of three students awarded the full-tuition scholarship, based on his high school grade point average, ACT/SAT score, and a personal interview.


Mercer is a senior at Andrew High School and he plans on majoring in Chemistry at Lewis University. Mercer participated on his school’s swim team. He also is an active member of the Math and German Honor Society at Andrew High School. Throughout his four years in high schools, Mercer accumulated more than 200 community service hours.
