ORLAND PARK, IL — Two suspects pulled off a smash-and-grab armed robbery at a department store in Orland Park Friday, making off with multiple purses worth almost $40,000 in just one minute, police said.
One suspect was armed with a sledgehammer, and the second with a wire cutter, police told Patch. They entered Von Maur, 288 Orland Square Mall, Friday. The pair headed to the high end purses, smashed a case and cut a security wire, said Commander Ken Rosinski. They grabbed 15 purses before fleeing in a getaway car that had been stolen earlier that morning, Rosinski said.
The suspects were completely covered from head to toe, said Commander Ken Rosinski, resulting in no good descriptors or surveillance images.
