Although Atlantic Aviation loves to give to others and supports many charitable contributions throughout the year, the holiday season is always a perfect time to reach out to those in need. That is exactly what Atlantic Aviation Chicago Midway did this past December by hosting a local company-wide toy drive to help the Pediatric Oncology Treasure Chest Foundation (POTCF), an Orland Park-based, non-profit organization that provides comfort and distraction from painful treatments to children and teens diagnosed with cancer by providing a toy, gift or gift card in 49 hospitals nationwide. The toy drive raised hundreds of toys and $95 in gift cards for children and teens fighting cancer.
Atlantic Aviation has three Fixed Base Operators (FBOs) that operate at Midway International Airport. The FBOs offer a wide range of services for corporate and private aircraft. Services range from fueling and aircraft services to meeting and lounge facilities. Atlantic Aviation is proud to be the FBO that touches hearts and lives. Active involvement in the community is a priority, and giving back is more than a commitment, it is part of their DNA.
Atlantic Aviation Client Relations Manager Valerie Wever said, “I think what the Treasure Chest Foundation does is important. I can’t imagine what the patients go through.”

POTCF Founder and CEO Colleen Kisel is especially grateful to Atlantic Aviation for their toy drive this past December for children and teens fighting cancer. “Thanks to the overwhelming success of their event winter will be happier for the brave children and teens who benefit from our services across the nation,” said an appreciative Ms. Kisel.
The not-for-profit Treasure Chest Foundation now supports more than 9,300 children and teens each month who are diagnosed with cancer by providing a toy or gift card in 49 hospitals nationwide. Nowhere else in the nation does such a program exist. CEO Colleen Kisel founded the organization in 1996 after her then seven-year-old son Martin had been diagnosed with leukemia in 1993. Colleen discovered that giving her son a toy after each procedure provided a calming distraction from his pain. Martin celebrated his 22nd anniversary of remission from the disease in 2015.
