Aurora Woman With Ties to Pickpocket Crew Wanted for Theft: Police
Arrest warrant issued for woman who used credit card stolen from an old day's purse to buy $1,000 worth of gift cards, Orland Park cops say.

An Aurora woman believed to have ties to a pickpocket crew is wanted for identity theft after she used a stolen credit card to purchase over $1,000 in gift cards from a big box store, Orland Park police said.
Around Dec. 12, 2915 at a local sandwich shop, an 83-year-old woman with dementia was dining with her daughter when her wallet was picked out of her purse, the detective said in court.
The credit card was allegedly used by Gloria Holguin, 43, whose last known address is in Aurora, to purchase gift cards at Target, 15850 S. 94th Ave., Orland Park.

Two consecutive transactions were made later that same day in amounts of $532 and $542. The detective told the judge that Holguin was identified by a store associate as well as on security video making the purchases.
The detective said Holguin is a known associate of pickpocket crew. She also has past convictions in Will County for identity theft in 2013, and two convictions in Cook County for misuse of a credit card, also in 2013, and a false insurance conviction in 2009.

“Tinley Park police are also looking at her, but their witness wasn’t as good as mine,” the detective said.
All of Holguin’s past addresses have been checked but she has yet to be found.
Police think the elderly woman’s purse was picked by another person on the crew, who may have handed the credit card off to Holguin, the detective added.
The judge issued an arrest warrant for $30,000.
