BB Gun-Toting Men Arrested for Shooting Out Car Windows in Orland: Police
The incidents began in Orland Park on Feb. 29, and the suspects struck several more targets in surrounding towns.
Orland Park police have charged three men with criminal damage to property after the trio allegedly used a BB gun to shoot out windows and cause other damage across Tinley Park, Orland Park and Orland Hills from Feb. 29 to March 7.
Two of the occupants, Matthew Budlove, 19, of Orland Hills, and Corey Hardesty, 18, of Orland Park, were charged with four counts of criminal damage to property each after Tinley Park police conducted a traffic stop and found a BB gun and several BBs in the car.
The incidents date back to Feb. 29, when Orland Park Police received several reports of criminal damage to vehicles in the southwest area of Orland Park, primarily the Brook Hills subdivision. The majority of reports indicated that windows were damaged and the damage appeared to be caused by BB gun projectiles. Police issued a bulletin to bulletin to surrounding departments in which they described a vehicle that was wanted for similar damage complaints that had occurred in Orland Hills. Tinley Park Police had also taken similar damage reports.

Tinley police were responding March 7 to a criminal damage to vehicle report in the 8400 block of West 165th Place when they saw a white 2015 Chrysler 200 leaving the area that matched a description released by the Orland Hills Police Department. Tinley Park Detectives received statements from the offenders implicating themselves in multiple damage to property complaints. Two of the men then later admitted to damaging four vehicles in the Orland Park Brook Hills subdivision on Feb. 29. The two offenders were charged accordingly by Orland Park regarding the incidents that occurred in Orland Park.
Budlove and Hardesty, as well as Troy Dignan, 18, were also charged with the Tinley Park incidents.
