Bob's Discount Furniture Opens in Orland Park

Discount furniture and bedding retailer bringing New England brand to Chicago market. Grand opening celebration planned for Feb. 11-15.

Bob’s Discount Furniture will open its first Chicago-area stores just in time for President’s Day.

The Connecticut-based furniture and bedding retailer is bring its New England brand to the Chicago market by opening five new stores in the Chicago area on Feb. 11, including Burbank.

A grand opening celebration is planned for Feb. 11 to Feb. 15 at the new Orland Park store at 15830 LaGrange Road.

Bob’s offers a wide variety of quality furnishings for the living room, bedroom, dining room and home office, including office furniture and home accents at everyday low prices. The furniture chain is also famous for its in-store cafes that offer complimentary gourmet coffee and homemade baked cookies.

Leading up to the store’s opening in Orland Park, Bob’s has donated $10,000 to local children’s charities and schools in the Orland Park area including Century Junior High School and The Pediatric Oncology Treasure Chest Foundation.

Shoppers are invited to come check out the new store and enter for a chance to win a pair of 2016 Chicago Bears season tickets. Additional activities taking place throughout the weekend include face painting and balloon clowns, along with free giveaways.

Chicago Bears alumni players Steve McMichael and Mike Richardson will also be putting in an appearance.

Headquartered in Manchester, CT, the company was founded in 1991 and offers a vast selection of fashionable and affordable furniture at discount prices.

With 69 stores in New England and the Mid-Atlantic region, Bob’s Discount Furniture is the fourteenth largest furniture chain in the United States.

Bob’s Discount Furniture is opened five new stores on Feb. 11 in Burbank, Orland Park, Aurora, Skokie and Villa Park. The new stores mark the discount furniture retailer’s foray in the Chicago market and Midwest. Three more store openings are lined up for spring in Calumet City, Schaumburg, and Merrillville, IN.

Store hours will be 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday; and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.

Scheduled grand opening activities include:

  • Appearance by WTMX street team on February 13 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Chicago Bears players appearances on February 14 from 1 to 3 p.m.
  • Free giveaways: T-Shirts, Frisbees, and more all day through Monday, February 15
