Bold Flower Thief Caught On Video
An Orland Park woman shares a video of a stranger strolling around her yard in the middle of the night before stealing expensive flowers.

ORLAND PARK, IL — A woman was walking around a yard in Orland Park for more than a half-hour before she made off with more than $1,000 worth of flowers, a local resident has claimed while sharing a flyer and surveillance video of the alleged incident on Facebook. Police in Orland Park are aware of the incident near the corner of Emerald and Kerry and are investigating, Fox Chicago reports.
Mary Jo Cain-Reis is looking for the woman, who she describes as one who is "middle age or older" with a "top heavy figure, pendulous bosom, light hair shoulder length with bangs and odd, unsteady swinging gait."
"This burglar was brazen enough to walk our property, as if she was shopping at a garden center," Cain-Reis said while introducing a video that's been viewed thousands of times since she posted it on May 17. "She deliberately chose the very best of the bunch. She had the audacity to roam around for over 30 minutes, pilfering several flower pots, planters, baskets and other items."

A flyer with surveillance images of the woman shows the incident occurring just after 1 a.m. on May 12. Cain-Reis says the culprit drove up to her residence in a dark colored sedan and spent about 30 minutes looking around her yard before making off with the flower arrangements worth more than $1,000.
The suspect -- who was wearing a light colored hoodies with the letters "NA" on the right breast and light sneakers -- was caught on camera when she came right up to the front door to look at some of the flowers there, Cain-Reis said.
