Brats & Burn at Orland Grassland
Free-Volunteer with the Volunteers! Help restore our regional but endangered heritage, a Tallgrass Prairie.

Free! Volunteer with the Volunteers! On February 14 from 9 a.m. to noon, help restore our regional but endangered heritage, a Tallgrass Prairie, at Orland Grassland Land and Water Reserve, FPCC. Meet up is on the west side of the site at 104th and old 175th Street in Orland Park. After lopping or using bow saws on invasive shrubs and trees, toss the cuttings on a burning plush pile. While the fire burns down, enjoy sizzling brats, steaming baked potatoes, a hot chocolate bar and treats and camaraderie.
This is for people steady on their feet, dressed for the weather wearing sturdy boots or shoes, that can tolerate hiking and working off trail in natural terrain. RSVP at ptihys@yahoo.com or “Contact Us” at https://www.orlandgrassland.org.
