The Frankfort Brass Band will perform a free public concert at the Orland Park Public Library on Saturday, June 20 at 2:30 p.m. Patrons of all ages are invited to attend this special afternoon of live music. No registration is required. Just before the performance, at 2 p.m. kids, ages newborn through age 6 will be invited to celebrate America 250 by having a parade from the Youth Services Program Room to the Library Lobby. Wagons and Strollers are welcome to pull children.
Founded in 1860 as the Frankfort Silver Cornet Band, the ensemble became the Frankfort Brass Band in 1897 and flourished for more than 30 years. The band was revived in 2005 and has continued to grow into one of the busiest and most beloved community organizations in Frankfort and the surrounding area.
Audience members can look forward to an entertaining performance featuring traditional brass band music, familiar favorites, and lively selections perfect for all ages. The concert offers a wonderful opportunity for families, music lovers, and community members to enjoy a live performance in a welcoming setting.
