Cardinal Bernardin Catholic School Welcomes Students Back to School

Students, faculty, and staff returned to school for the 2022-23 school year at Cardinal Joseph Bernardin Catholic School.

(Orland Hills, IL) – Cardinal Joseph Bernardin Catholic School (CJB) commemorated the first day of the 2022-23 school year on August 22, 2022, with its traditional prayer service and flag-raising ceremony. Principal Kelly Bourrell welcomed the students, parents, faculty, and staff back to school.

Veterans from Bremen VFW Post 2791 raised both the US and Blue Ribbon flags. Fr. Tirso Villaverde, Pastor of St. Julie Billiart Parish in Tinley Park, blessed the flags and led us in prayer. Ms. Abby Fritts also led the students in the singing of “God Bless America.” Taylor Healy, Peter Baio, Anna Bianco, and Elizabeth Guyette, who are CJB Student Council Ambassadors, also lead the school in prayer.

Chasitie Thomas of Matteson said, “Our family is beyond excited for this school year! It will be especially momentous with our son graduating 8th grade and our daughter receiving her first Holy Communion. CJB’s strong academics, faith-based environment, and dedicated teachers and staff will make this year the best one yet!”
