Cardinal Joseph Bernardin Catholic School Begins the School Year

Cardinal Joseph Bernardin Catholic School (CJB) welcomed faculty, staff, students, and families for the 2021-22 school year on August 16th.

(Orland Hills, IL) – Cardinal Joseph Bernardin Catholic School (CJB) commemorated the first day of the 2021-22 school year on August 16th with its traditional prayer service and flag raising ceremony. Principal Kelly Bourrell welcomed the students, parents, and faculty and staff back to school.

Veterans from Bremen VFW Post 2791 raised both the US and Blue Ribbon flags. Fr. Tirso Villaverde, Pastor of St. Julie Billiart Parish in Tinley Park, blessed the flags and led us in prayer. Diana Viz, Nicholas Quinn, Ava Young, and Ellie Conneely, who are CJB Student Council Ambassadors, also lead the school in prayer.

“Our heart is at CJB, and we couldn’t be happier to start the school year again. CJB has gone above and beyond to keep our four children happy, healthy, safe, and loved now more than ever,” said CJB parent Autumn Andronis of Mokena.
