A Chicago woman wanted on a no bail warrant out of Lake County was arrested after she tried paying for merchandise with a forged check at an Orland Park Place store, prosecutors said.

According to the charges, Davis attempted to purchase several items with a check at Bye Bye Baby, 290 Orland Park Place, on Sept. 30. When the check would not clear, she walked away from the check and merchandise and left the store.

Orland Park police found Davis in her car, where she was later positively identified by store employees, prosecutors said.

While searching Davis’s car, prosecutors said that police found a Victoria’s Secret bag full of clothing that had also been paid for with check, that also turned out to be fraudulent.

Police said that Davis admitted knowing the checks were fraudulent.

Davis has a prior conviction for felony forgery out of Jackson County, IL, for which she received probation in June, prosecutors said.

Bail was set at $75,000. Davis is due back in court on October 21.
