"The Christmas Express" Closes Orland Park Theatre's 25th Season

The Orland Park Theatre Troupe closes its 25th anniversary season with a nostalgic Christmas show, perfect for the entire family.

ORLAND PARK, IL (November 28, 2018) – The Orland Park Theatre Troupe will close its 25th anniversary season with its Christmas show, “The Christmas Express,” written by Pat Cook and directed by Frann Carnivele.

“This year is the 25th anniversary of the Orland Park Theatre Troupe,” said Resident Director Frann Carnivele who has been with the program for 20 years. “The troupe’s first show was ‘Beauty and the Beast’, performed in 1994 on the stage at the Beacon Avenue Old Village Hall. It's exciting to look back to see how far the program has come since that first show.”

The theatre troupe is closing its 25th season with a nostalgic show.

“’The Christmas Express’ is a great story full of wonderful characters that will remind you of different people in your life,” Carnivele said. “This story makes you realize that we all need to slow down and appreciate the season and the people around us.”

Magical things begin to happen when the mysterious Leo Tannebaum, portrayed by Orland Park’s Bill Kubiak, arrives at the Holly Railway Station. Orland Park’s Bryan Riess serves as assistant director.

Performances are Friday, December 7 and Saturday, December 8 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, December 9 at 2 p.m. at the Orland Park Civic Center, 14750 South Ravinia Avenue.

Orland Park residents appearing in the show include Heather Ancel, Vanessa Annel, Annie Burns, Brady Dahl, Aeris Danet, Paige Doman, Patricia Domico, Christina Cucci Fischer, Mary Fischer, Raymond Fischer, Jeremiah Hladish, Kubiak, Mollie McCormick, Caidence Meadors, Riess, Esmeray Salgado, James Sullivan, Lucas Vajarsky, Marc Vajarsky, and Will Vajarsky.

“This is a nice show for the entire family,” said Jean Petrow, the show’s executive producer. “It’s sure to put everyone in the spirit of the season.”

The cast also includes Allison Belair (Orland Hills), Amanda Belair (Orland Hills), Michelle Belair (Orland Hills), Rudy Chavez (Oak Forest), Ray Misischia (Joliet), Diana Stephenson (New Lenox), Zoe Touloupakis (Palos Park) and Brenden Zielinski (Frankfort).

Advance reserved seat tickets are on sale now at Recreation Administration, 14600 South Ravinia Avenue. Tickets are $14 for adults; $12 for seniors and students and $10 for children age 12 and younger. For more information, call the Orland Park Recreation Department at 708/403-7275.
